September 28 – Growing Resilience: Permaculture for Emergency Preparedness – Daphne Singingtree With a focus on growing and making herbal products to have on hand for a variety of unexpected or emergency situations. Also discussed will be which permaculture plants to grow to increase your self-reliance if there are breakdowns in accessing usual resources. Herbs for emergency situations like smoke from wildfires, trauma and stress, first aid, and disorders seen in these circumstances.

Making a herbal business from a small permaculture urban homestead. Outline of what is needed to create your own home business from things you grow.

Oct 21 – Native Perspectives on Plants – Daphne Singingtree
Through storytelling and hands on activities, will show the intertwined relationship between plants, people and the earth. Keeping a relationship with plants in harmony and balance.

Nov 16 – 1 to 5pm Making Herbal Holiday Gifts – Daphne Singingtree
Make fun holiday gifts with herbs. Review of how to make herbal products, including tinctures, salves, lotions, syrups. Hands on making of bath and facial products, massage melts, and aromatherapy misters
Class is free, but please bring ingredients and materials for your own and to share with others. Ingredients can be purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs or Amazon. Or a materials fee of $50.00 can be paid instead.
Please bring enough for 5 to 10 of each product:
✓ 2 and 4 oz wide mouth containers and 1 to 3 oz house spray/spritzer bottles preferably glass. Fun and recycled jars are great or buy new.
✓ Herbs such as rose, lavender, or other aromatic herbs you wish to use
✓ Essential oils bring a variety and we can mix blends
✓ High Quality Salts such as himalayan, dead sea, or celtic sea salts
✓ Distilled Water
✓ Coconut Oil, organic preferred, and other high quality oils such as avocado, sweet almond oil, rosehip oils, kukai nut
✓ Butters such as shea, mango, kokum
✓ Beeswax either bars or pastilles
✓ Avery label stock, ovals, circles, rectangles
